Ear Cosmetic Surgery

It is correcting severely distorted ears, such as extremely large earlobe, prominent ears and other distortions that might affect the sense of hearing. The restoration is done by reconstructing, moving, or enlarging the cartilage that supports the ear lobes. This operation is most common for children between (4–14). It also proved to be a successful procedure for adults as well.

Ear Surgery’s Stages

There are three stages for this surgery:

First, local or general anesthesia can be performed based on the patient’s case and this is usually determined by the Doctor.

Second, making an incision to rectify the prominent ears by enlarging the size of the inner ear folds as well as downsizing the cartilage that causes large concavity. Mostly medical incisions are made on the back of the ears, but it sometimes becomes necessary to do it in the ears’ frontside to hide the ears’ fold.

–  Third, closing the medical incision by stitching on the backside of the ears so as to avoid appearance of any undesired marks or distortions.
